Chloé unveiled the new Gayia Eyewear Collection designed under the creative direction of Gabriela Hearst, during a one-day event hosted by Kering Eyewear at Cercle Lebrun, an historical 18th century mansion framed by a beautiful private garden.
The experience revolved around three main moments that included a morning round table on sustainability, an afternoon press preview dedicated to Chloé’s new ReAce Eyewear Collection, and an after-dinner party for key clients, editors and opinion leaders.
Aude Vergne, Chloé Chief Sustainability Officer, Barbara Lissi, Kering Eyewear Global Head of Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sustainability, Céline Dassonville, Founder and CEO of Ethiwork, and Galia Loupan, Head of Fashion Contents for Marie Claire International, were the speakers of the sustainability panel organised as part of the Fashion Our Future project promoted by Kering in collaboration with Marie Claire International. A group of students from IFM – Institut Français de la Mode had the opportunity to attend the round table and participate in the debate about building a better tomorrow through progress and innovation.
In line with its social and environmental commitment, rooted in transparency and accountability, Chloé and Kering Eyewear engaged participants in an in-depth conversation about fashion’s role in promoting a meaningful transformation, a theme that is strictly connected to the nature of the new Gayia line. In fact, the curated selection of optical and sunglass frames is entirely crafted from ReAce, a material created in exclusivity for Kering Eyewear. The unique blend is obtained from pre-consumer acetate scraps with the mission of recovering and reusing what already exists to positively impact the planet. Gayia designs consist of pilot, round and vintage square constructions in timeless black and Havana colours and special seasonal tones, all engraved with the Gayia Manifesto.
At the end of the day, guests enjoyed an evening of music and entertainment animated by two international DJs known for their social commitment and unique style: Italian DJ and model Mari Ka, and French DJ and music curator Piu Piu, founder of the feminist creative studio Good Sisters.
